To Kill A Mockingbird-reviewedBYme
Nice story. I like the language-structure used. Very reader-friendly. A story about a place called Maycomb County. About children's curiosity. About a father raising his children without mother-however he does has a negro maid. About a deterministic lawyer who was assigned to defend a negro accused for raping a white female.(turns out she was the one trying to rape him).
I like this book mostly due to the way Mr Atticus Finch raised his children. He tought them with the best moral value and he himself actually practised what he preached. When asked why he took the case in the first place, he said it's because of his children. How he felt he couldn't face any of his children again should he refused to defend this innocent negro because all this while he has been teaching his children to do the right thing.
It's amazing to read a story of a single father raising his kids alone. I am constantly amazed by single parent for I feel it is not an easy job raising children.
This book provides you with parenting skills any parent should take into account. It teaches you not to quickly change the subject especially when the children is asking questions most parent finds quite sensitive. This book tells you to be honest with children and most of all respect them and their views for sometimes they can be nobler than you. You'd be surprised.
